About
Lions are kindergarten-age children that join with a parent or other caring adult partner. They meet in dens with their accompanying adult toward the Lion rank which is accomplished by completing the five required adventures.
Lions move to the next Cub Scout level (Tigers) at the end of kindergarten.
Requirements
The requirements and information necessary to earn the Lion rank are included in the Lion Cub Scout Handbook.
Complete each of the following Lion required adventures with your den or family:
Animal Kingdom
Fun on the Run
King of the Jungle
Lion’s Honor
Mountain Lion
With your parent or guardian, complete the exercises in the pamphlet How to Protect Your
Children From Child Abuse: A Parent’s Guide (included with a Lion handbook).
Electives
Outside of the requirements, Lion Scouts can also complete any number of seven elective adventures of their den’s or family’s choosing.

Uniform & Gear
The Lion uniform is a Lion T-shirt and optional cap, available at your local Scout shop or online. Alongside the Lion T-shirt, your scout will benefit from having a Cub Scout belt as a place to display each adventure loop they earn.
Additionally, you may choose to purchase the Cub Scout six essentials and other camping / hiking gear (i.e. a tent, sleeping bag, sleeping mat) from any outdoor store.
